Sundair in Dresden from start of summer timetable

Major boost for Mitteldeutsche Flughäfen: Sundair will be stationing an Airbus A320 in Dresden from the start of the 2019 summer timetable. Popular holiday destinations such as Crete, Rhodes, Kos and Antalya will be on offer in the summer, with the airline planning a total of 26 take-offs and landings per week. It will be heading for Egypt and the Canary Islands in the winter. Schauinsland Reisen and Sundair have announced their intention to expand their services from Dresden if the market develops positively.

Götz Ahmelmann, CEO of Mitteldeutsche Flughäfen, commented on the investment by Sundair and Schauinsland Reisen: “I am delighted that we have been able to attract these new services. The fact that Germania filed for insolvency on Monday night dealt a severe blow to our company. Just 72 hours later we have two new partners on board in the form of Sundair and Schauinsland, offering a range of attractive destinations from Dresden. In the coming weeks we will be holding further discussions with airline partners with a view to expanding our flight offerings in Dresden and Leipzig/Halle.”
