Lufthansa flies to Munich from Leipzig/Halle again
Lufthansa is planning to expand the service to its hub in Munich to as many as 14 flights a week.
Lufthansa has already been operating up to 14 flights per week between Leipzig/Halle and Frankfurt since June this year.
Services from Dresden
Lufthansa has already been serving the Dresden – Frankfurt route for one year – apart from an interruption lasting seven weeks as a result of the pandemic. Lufthansa flies to the hub in Munich every day.

The 2021 summer timetable
Airlines and tour operators are continually adapting their services in line with developments in the pandemic. Last-minute changes to the timetable are therefore possible. You will find a summary of the summer timetable destinations here: https://www.mdf-ag.com/flugsuche/.
Test facilities at the airports
Passengers have the opportunity of being tested at Covid-19 test centres operated by private companies at both Leipzig/Halle and Dresden airports, but must pay for this service. You can directly arrange the appointments for antigen rapid tests and PCR tests with the provider online.

Protecting people’s health is the top priority
The Central German airports already introduced extensive precautions to protect the health of passengers, visitors, partners and employees after the first lockdown last year.
People must wear a medical face mask inside the terminals. There are automatic vending machines in front of the buildings where it is possible to purchase FFP2 masks.
Protective plastic screens have been installed at the check-in desks and at the boarding card control points. Monitors, signs and announcements remind passengers and visitors to comply with the regulations covering behaviour and hygiene. Markings have also been attached to the floor to remind people of the current social distancing rules during check-in and security checks, for example. The seats in the terminals also have distance markers.
Passengers must also wear a face mask on board aircraft during flights. They should obtain information about the current regulations from their airline or tour operator in advance. The same applies to the entry requirements in the destination country and the hygiene rules that are in force there.
Information for passengers
In order to be able to start their flight in as relaxed a manner as possible, passengers should arrive at the airport at least 2.5 hours before departure and use the online check-in facilities. The pandemic makes additional formalities necessary during check-in, so that passengers should allow for longer waiting times than normal.
Passengers may only take one item of hand luggage on board.
Returning to Germany
All those returning to Germany from abroad have had to submit to a test since 30 March 2021. All persons wishing to fly to Germany must present a negative Covid-19 test to their airline before departure. They are not allowed to travel without the negative test result. Passengers are therefore requested to obtain information directly from their airline or their tour operator about how the essential Covid-19 tests are conducted before their return flight.
Low-cost parking directly at the airports
Passengers can park their car at the Central German airports at prices starting from EUR 15 per week. This is possible at the P4 car park (Leipzig/Halle) or the P4A car park (Dresden), if the booking is made online. You will find more information at: www.mdf-ag.com
