Leipzig/Halle Airport – new features for the 2018 summer timetable

The summer timetable starts at Leipzig/Halle Airport on 25 March with new destinations in the form of Tivat in Montenegro, Bodrum and Dalaman in Turkey and Dubai.

Compared to the previous year, the timetable provides a greater number of tourist flights as well as services to international hubs – and one new operator on the route to Moscow.

 

Condor once again the number 1 for holiday traffic

The largest holiday airline at the site is Condor, which is stationing a third aircraft at the airport during this season. The popular holiday airline will therefore be using three Airbus A 321 aircraft from Leipzig/Halle. 

Condor is also continuing to significantly expand its services with 55 departures per week in comparison with the previous year (43) and offers the most opportunities for people to travel abroad for their summer holidays. It will fly to destinations in Spain, Greece, Egypt, Portugal, Turkey and the United Arab Emirates (UAE). 

New sunshine destinations and holiday airlines

The are several new sunshine destinations for this summer season: Tivat in Montenegro, which has flights on Wednesdays and Saturdays, as well as Bodrum and Dalaman on the Turkish Aegean coast; flights operate there on Fridays.

Condor is also offering its flights to Dubai, which were newly launched in November last year, as part of its summer timetable. The holiday airline flies to the Emirate on the Arabian Gulf every Wednesday. 

The number two holiday airline during this summer season is Small Planet Airlines with 18 take-offs per week, followed by Sun Express Deutschland and Bulgarian AirCharter with 15 and 13 weekly departures respectively.
Overall, 20 airlines will be operating tourist flights from Leipzig/Halle. 

Newcomers this summer are the Spanish company Evelop Airlines and Montenegro Airlines, which will fly to Mallorca and Tivat respectively. 

The number one hit among the sunshine destinations is Antalya with as many as 27 weekly departures, followed by Palma de Mallorca and Hurghada, where flights operate 22 and 15 times a week respectively. Varna and Burgas are the next most popular on the list with 14 and 12 take-offs per week.

Cities and hubs

New: fly to Moscow with Pobeda

Pobeda – the budget airline within the Aeroflot Group – is launching flights to Moscow Vnukovo on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays on 16 April. The airline is using Boeing 737-800 aircraft on this route. 

Moscow Vnukovo, which is situated about 30 kilometres south-west of the centre of Moscow, has its own rail link and offers many connecting flights to domestic and international destinations. Passengers can reach Kiyevsky station and the metro station there (Kiyevskaya) in 35 minutes by using the Aeroexpress service. There is a bus link between the airport and the Yugo-Zapadnaya metro station. 

Flights can be booked on the Internet at pobeda.aero, at online flight and travel portals or at travel agents. 

Lufthansa and Eurowings increase their flights

Lufthansa will link Leipzig/Halle to its hub at Frankfurt even better with its domestic services. There are eight additional flights per week on this route – totalling 42. The route to Düsseldorf is also being expanded: Eurowings is increasing its frequency by two take-offs per week to a total of 18.

Low-cost parking directly at the airport

There are about 5,000 parking spaces at Leipzig/Halle Airport. They can be booked comfortably on the Internet at:

The P15 and P20 seasonal car parks and the P2 car park are also opening again on 23 March. The low-cost parking spaces in particular provide an opportunity to park at the airport for much less. 
Examples of prices: 4-8 days parking costs EUR 20 at the P15 and P20 car parks (can only be booked online), 9-15 days EUR 35 and 16-20 days EUR 55.  

2018 Easter special:

Passengers can obtain reductions at the P2 car park and in the multi-storey car park as part of the 25% discount scheme for online bookings during the period from 23 March until 8 April.
