14 June to 15 July – World Cup public viewing
Visitors and passengers can watch all World Cup matches live in the terminal. The individual matches will be shown on two large screens in the World Cup lounge on the Departures level. There will also be table football tables to keep visitors entertained before kick-off and during half-time. Balls will be available from the airport information desk against payment of a €4 deposit. The table football tables will be left in place for use by visitors after the World Cup.
ElbeZeit GmbH will provide a wide range of food and beverages. Admission is free.
24 July to 12 August – every Sunday from 18:00 Summer Evening tours at the airport (90 minutes)
On our popular Summer Evening tours (max. 30 persons per tour) you will first be given a brief guided tour of the terminal building, after which you will pass through security and go airside. Then you will take a bus ride out onto the apron to watch aircraft being handled. No airport tour would be complete without a visit to the fire station, where our fire-fighters will present their fire- fighting equipment and the impressive 1268 hp Panther 8x8.

Mini and Maxi tours in Saxony’s summer school holidays (60 and 90 minutes per tour)
Kids bored in the summer holidays? Not at the airport, that’s for sure! As planeloads of holidaymakers head south from Dresden every day, children can now join in the action!
An airport guide will take you in an apron bus to watch luggage being loaded onto the planes and on to the airport fire station as well if requested. Children with a Dresden holiday pass get a discount on the ticket price.

High Fliers Starting School 11 August – 14:00 to 18:00
On 11 August it’s all systems go at Dresden Airport for the start of the new school year. The first day of school is a very special day, and many parents, family members and friends look for an unusual setting to celebrate this momentous day. With its High Fliers Starting School day on the second Saturday in August, Dresden Airport fits the bill perfectly.
The event kicks off at 14:00 in the terminal’s LuftRAUM with its panoramic view of the runway. A juice and sparkling wine reception is followed by a sumptuous sweet and savoury snack buffet, including selected hot drinks, orange juice and water. The fun-packed afternoon features face painting, table football and arts and crafts, and every school starter will also be given a small surprise gift. Additional services such as a customised cake or a sweet table can be booked with Customer Services. To round off the afternoon, at 16:30 High Fliers of all ages embark on a 90-minute discovery tour on which you’ll be taken out onto the apron and to the airport fire station, where there will be a demonstration of a fire-fighting vehicle.

Airport in sporty mood
On the last weekend in June Dresden Airport will once again be taking part in the 27th Dresden Dragon Boat Festival with our highly successful Flugboot. The crew’s motto: “Only flying is better!” In addition, the airport donates the High Flyer Cup. From 18 June to 8 July there is another opportunity for our employees to show their sporting prowess in the “Stadtradeln” City Cycling campaign and make yet another contribution to a good climate in Dresden.
