Central German Airports: the 2023/24 winter timetable starts on 29 October
Leipzig/Halle Airport
It will be possible to fly directly from Leipzig/Halle to two cities on the Arabian Peninsula, Abu Dhabi and Dubai, during this winter season.
The tour operator, Etihad Holidays, has been connecting the capital of the United Arab Emirates, Abu Dhabi, with Leipzig/Halle, twice a week, on Tuesdays and Saturdays, for the first time since 14 October. The package holidays can be booked via the Etihad Holidays website, www.etihadholidays.de or through your travel agent. The holidays available include 15-day round trips starting at EUR 999 per person; this enables travellers to spend time in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, Dubai and Ras Al Khaimah. The price includes transfers and various excursions. The holiday-makers spend their time in four and five-star hotels, either with just breakfast or all meals included.
SmartLynx Airlines will be connecting Leipzig/Halle with Dubai on behalf of the FTI tour operator from 9 November onwards. This means that Dubai is now a direct destination again after 2019. Condor is the most important operator among the holiday airlines at Leipzig/Halle Airport with as many as 28 departures to seven destinations each week.
It operates flights to the holiday regions of Arrecife, Fuerteventura, Tenerife, Las Palmas, Funchal, Hurghada and Mallorca.
European Air Charter takes off for sunshine destinations round the Red Sea or in the Atlantic Ocean as many as six times a week. It operates flights to the holiday destinations of Fuerteventura, Hurghada, Gran Canaria and Marsa Alam.
Lufthansa connects Leipzig/Halle Airport with its hub at Frankfurt as many as five times a day and does the same for its hub in Munich twice a day. Turkish Airlines flies from Leipzig/Halle to its hub in Istanbul as many as five times a week. Austrian Airlines operates the Leipzig/Halle – Vienna route up to eleven times a week. Ryanair takes off from Leipzig/Halle heading to London three times a week.
The winter timetable at Leipzig/Halle Airport provides connections to 16 destinations in nine different countries and these services are operated by 16 airlines. As many as 135 flights* take off each week.
Dresden Airport
Sundair is the most important holiday airline with as many as six departures per week. The airline flies to Gran Canaria and Tenerife as well as to Hurghada. It will also start operating a flight once a week to another of the Canary Islands, Fuerteventura, from 15 February 2024 onwards.
More flights to Antalya: Sun Express is boosting its services and flying to Antalya as many as four times a week. Corendon Airlines also offers flights from Dresden to Antalya in addition to Sun Express.
KLM flies to its hub in Amsterdam every day. SWISS connects Dresden and Zurich on Mondays to Fridays and on Sundays. Lufthansa and Air Dolomiti fly to the hub in Frankfurt four times a day. Lufthansa serves the hub in Munich with as many as three flights a day.
Eurowings connects Dresden and Düsseldorf on Mondays to Fridays and on Sundays. Eurowings also flies to Palma de Mallorca up to twice a week. Eurowings will operate three weekly flights to the Balearic Island from the beginning of February 2024 onwards.
The winter timetable at Dresden Airport provides connections to 11 destinations in 6 different countries and these services are operated by eight airlines. As many as 80 flights* take off each week.
